Jake Slocum wins 2016 Utah Junior Amateur, Boys 13-14 division

Congratulations to Jake Slocum for winning the Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Tour event Utah Junior Amateur Boys 13-14 division at Mountain View Golf Course in S. Jordan, Utah. Jake posted a 76 and 77 to win by one stroke. Jake is having a great tournament season this year so far. I am excited to see him progressing towards his goals to play college golf. Jake started in the PWG Rising Stars program and has progressed into the Strive for Excellence program for more advanced, competitive junior golfers. He works hard on his game, and I will not be surprised to see his name at the top of a lot of leader boards as he enters high school this year.

To Paul coaching is not his job, it's his passion. Paul Weyland, PGA Member, has been coaching juniors and adults for the past 10 years. He coached at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy, IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida as a Certified David Leadbetter Instructor before opening Paul Weyland Golf, LLC in Idaho. He has successfully coached juniors to go on to play collegiate golf and many of them are now on professional tours, and he has helped reduce the handicaps of many adults.
