Congratulations to Jake Slocum, a freshman at Rocky Mountain High School, for his 4th place finish at the 5A State High School Tournament. He finished 73-76-149, tied for 3rd and placed 4th in a scorecard playoff. Jake’s team won the 5A HS State Championships for the second year in a row winning by 48 strokes. It’s a strong team lead by two juniors in the top 300 in Junior Golf Scoreboard ratings.
I’m so proud of Jake. Jake had to learn how to handle the pressure of being a freshman on a very competitive team, but he continued to believe in himself. He struggled to make varsity at the beginning, but by the end of the season placed 4th at State. Wow!
Jake works very hard on his game and fitness. I am seeing a lot of growth in his game and his maturity on the course. He’s learning and getting better everyday. Best of all he’s a great kid and has a great family!
